Hotel GUT Trattlerhof

The new Body-Mind-Soul concept demonstrates that a golf hotel such as Gut Trattlerhof in Bad Kleinkirchheim, Carinthia, provides far more than golf, wellness, fine dining, and “Winzer am Berg”—elevating a stay into a truly distinctive experience. Those who embrace this concept will experience—amidst glorious autumn days in the heart of the Nockberge Mountains—not only sports, culinary delights as culture, and wellness as a holistic journey, but also a renewed sense of vitality.

From complimentary golf to culinary highlights

: An autumn day of golf at Austria’s highest-altitude golf course is already a special experience. Not only is booking a tee time on the resort’s own 18-hole championship golf course, “Kaiserburg,” complimentary and entirely flexible, but you also have all the time in the world here. And you will need it, because the home course of skiing icon Franz Klammer is quite a challenge: The first nine holes wind through a sunny valley with wide fairways on gently rolling terrain and conclude at the beautifully situated clubhouse. This is where you should rent a cart at the latest, because things get exciting from there: The course for the second nine holes winds through narrow forest paths, across meadows and fields into another valley, from where you then play steeply uphill again. It is an unforgettable experience, and afterward you will surely crave a substantial snack—which the 4-star superior Gut Trattlerhof has already prepared. In fact, no one departs here hungry; instead, every guest anticipates the themed evening dinner with wine pairings—including at the “Trattlers Einkehr” mountain hut restaurant, which boasts a rustic ambience. Or to a wine tasting with select winemakers, such as those from Schloss Gobelsburg, featuring a witty cellar master with profound knowledge of the new wines. “Wine perfectly combines good taste with a deeper, spiritual dimension of life,” says owner Jakob Forstnig, who launched the “Winzer am Berg” series.

The Body-Mind-Soul concept is all about learning to better understand your own body and gaining insight into your current state of vitality. As a result, the Body-Mind-Soul Scan has become the centerpiece of the new wellness concept at Hotel GUT Trattlerhof. Developed in collaboration with the company Sanochron, it provides a comprehensive, holistic picture of your vitality—physical, mental, and emotional—in just 75 minutes. Naturally, each participant is invited to collaborate on various assessments of resilience, recovery capacity, stress levels, and mental fortitude. The reward is that this scientifically rigorous measurement process offers profound insights and encourages introspection: What triggers my stress? Do I carve out sufficient time for myself? How am I nurturing my health? The results, generated using AI, are then eagerly awaited and discussed with the experts—ranging from physical aspects, such as nutrition, exercise, and sleep, to mental and emotional ones, such as stress and mindfulness. These are all topics that people tend to put off dealing with. Here, they’re addressed head-on. The results are then eagerly awaited: ideally positive in terms of biodynamic age and offering room for improvement regarding one’s work-life balance. Additionally, as a guide, there are helpful tips for improving resilience and concentration, as well as for achieving inner peace. You can put these to the test right away through body hacking with ice baths or the hotel’s longevity program.

I feel GUT – A Tradition Dating Back 500

YearsIf one were to describe what makes this 4-star superior hotel special, the first thing that stands out is the rustic ambiance, where centuries-old tradition is palpable in every corner—from old photographs and hand-painted farmhouse cabinets to the living rooms, which are the epitome of coziness. Natural materials also predominate in the 60 rooms and suites, combined with modern furnishings. For despite its long-standing tradition, the hotel also embodies the modern spirit of the times, particularly in the Forest Wellness Spa with its longevity program and the new health program. The motto “I feel GUT” also applies perfectly to the 14 new chalets, which are furnished with local woods and promise a particularly intimate atmosphere. Their location right next to the lifts offers ski-in/ski-out access in winter, as well as hiking and biking trails right outside the front door in summer. In addition to the many accolades the hotel has already received, perhaps the most significant is the SDI (Sustainable Development Index) Gold Award for 100% renewable energy, regional cuisine, and sustainability through the use of electric vehicles. This distinction positions the hotel as a beacon of excellence in Austria.
