Even though golf year 21 is now drawing to a close, the wonderful memories of fantastic rounds of golf remain - despite corona.
They are particularly memorable when they also include culinary delights, culture and sightseeing hotspots. And you don't have to travel far - good things are often very close, like in SalzburgerLand.

Golf & enjoyment in SalzburgerLand

While late autumn is still enticing with pleasant temperatures, colorful foliage and gastronomic delicacies in the "19th hole" for the last rounds of golf, the first snow is already shining from the mountains. Particularly beautiful to see on the panoramic pictures in Zell am See and in the Gastein Valley in SalzburgerLand. But a trip there has other surprises in store besides fantastic golf:

Something like "BLÜ" in Bad Hofgastein

Whether you come from hiking, biking or golfing on one of the oldest golf courses in Austria, the GC Gastein - you will inevitably end up at the Gastein place to be - the Kaiser Franz I. Platz in the center of Bad Hofgastein. There are various colorful chairs with small tables in a funny arrangement and inviting for a drink - right in front of the Hotel BLÜ, which probably wants to do justice to the flower lover Emperor Franz with its name.

At least that's what Eva Eder tells us, who runs her hotel in an unconventional, young way and with smart ideas. What immediately stands out are the cheerful colors, unusual details, mixed with Austrian art and witty sayings. This is exactly what Eva Eder wanted, who was lucky enough to land a culinary jackpot with celebrity chef Winnie Brugger. In his BLÜKitchen, he, the much-traveled star chef from Vienna, combines urban cuisine from Salzburg and creative dishes from Tel Aviv to Asia. A classic roast pork from organic young pork and a Cordon BLÜ of veal meet sushi and vegetarian Kaiser Franz rolls, a flavorful marinated Oven Roast Cauliflower on humus or vegan jungle curry. And anyone who has ever tried his thyme and honey cheesecake or his Valhrona Explosion as a dessert will melt away. But what would super food be without the right wine? Isabella Lombardo is a real stroke of luck here. Not only was she voted Falstaff Bartender of the Year 2020, she also has a knack for choosing the right wine and the search for the right après-ski bar could end here with unusual cocktails.

Gastein is an Eldorado for skiers, freeriders, ski tourers and snowshoe hikers, who can then relax and chill out at the bar and in the HimmelBLÜ Spa on the roof with sauna and roof garden. The "wow" effect is also evident in the stylish rooms in the tree house, which also lends its name to the furnishings with lots of wood. This is combined with colorful, contemporary and creative design, for which the hotel has just won the "Golden Venus" creative award. The motto here is: Be free - everything is possible but nothing is a must! Of course, this also benefits the golf heroes who want to discuss their various round dramas at the bar. Because one thing is certain - as easy as the first 9 holes may seem at first glance, hills and narrow mountain streams are well-hidden obstacles. The diversity on the second nine is also interesting, with short but difficult to see holes and small greens. The imposing mountain backdrop is unforgettable and already whets the appetite for winter sports.

The Angertal has a few surprises in store for non-golfers: this certainly doesn't include skiing, as the Angertal is already famous for this. We were there for forest bathing with brunch in the middle of one of the most beautiful forest clearings in the valley. Yes, as hackneyed as it sounds - forest bathing touches the senses, slows you down and works like medicine. Here in the Gastein Valley, it is even a tourist offer that is an absolute must with a 7-course gourmet menu from the natural kitchen accompanied by wine.
