But yes! As just tested in Kitzbühel - a pretty good one, in fact. Because the people of Kitzbühel know how to capitalize on the late snow blessing even when the lush green meadows in the valley are already tempting you to play golf.

The Ski + Golf day ticket for 55 euros is the perfect offer for golf-loving skiers who have not yet mothballed their skis and have already unpacked their golf bag. Participating golf clubs are: GC Kitzbühel, GC Eichenheim, GC Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee or GC Mittersill.

From ski poles to golf clubs is the motto. In other words: In the morning, take the Hahnenkamm cable car to the "world's best" ski area, which is open until the beginning of May, and in the afternoon, head to the golf course for a 9-hole round. Everything is still feasible after Easter, as there is currently over 80 cm of snow and perfectly groomed slopes around the Steinbergkogel. At lunchtime at the Sonnalm, there is only a small menu, but Kaiserschmarr'n from the pan and a Wiener Schnitzel are still on the menu. The "bath" in the sun is free of charge. The stylish "Tomschy" bar with a view of the start of the Streif is also very busy. It's mainly the chic society that meets there - without skis, of course. Then it's off into the day because the snow is already getting heavy in the afternoon with spring temperatures. Time to unload the golf equipment and take a few "warm-up swings" on the driving range. This is what happened at Kitzbühel's No. 1 - the GC Eichenheim. Right now you can enjoy the panoramic view of the snow-covered mountains from the large terraces just as much as when playing on the very challenging course. Even good players have already cut their teeth on it. It is best to take the carry bag for the sometimes steep climbs or, more conveniently, the golf cart.

The 5-star Golf & Spa Resort Grand Tirolia Kitzbühel is located directly on the Golfplatz Eichenheim with a view of the Streif in a real postcard idyll. Since its opening 8 years ago, the Grand Tirolia with its mix of Tyrolean architectural tradition and Canadian lodge style has been synonymous with alpine chic. The ambience of the rooms with high-quality woods, checked fabrics, felt and fur and modern lighting design also contribute to this. Nature itself provides the icing on the cake - not only on the outside but also in the form of photo wallpaper, golf course pictures as TV screens or behind-glass landscape shots on cupboards and doors as well as photo art in all areas of the hotel. An exclusive novelty at the Grand Alps Spa is the facial treatment with the Swiss premium cosmetics brand Niance, which promises a new and lasting great skin feeling - and delivers! The whole atmosphere of the wellness area is as harmonious as the specially designed Niance treatment rooms: bright and flooded with light thanks to the glass pyramid in the middle with a spacious sauna area, comfortable relaxation rooms and indoor and outdoor pools, which are heated all year round. As a golfer with international experience when it comes to the architecture of clubhouses, the "Eichenheim" would get a straight A from me: Large and cozy with old wood tables, grey loden furniture on a natural stone floor, billiard table and the wall for club members decorated with their own bottles of schnapps, it exudes that stylish cosiness that would be the envy of some clubs internationally. Next to it is the "Herbarium" with an open fireplace, bar and two keepers who would be worthy of an award for their creativity alone. An absolute must for golfers, for non-golfers and the walking public an interesting "location" for a drink with a view of hole 18 and the Streif.
Info: The Ski & Golf day ticket is available to both hotel and day guests and can be purchased at the hotel or directly at the ticket offices of the Panoramabahn and Hahnenkammbahn valley stations.
