Best of 2022: In love with Fyn
The New Year is already three weeks old, but we still like to look back on the highlights of the old year. And there were many!
In love with Fyn
Starting with a romantic trip to the Danish island of Fyn, where I encountered the hygge factor for the first time, tasted the best fish in cozy restaurants, rocked the Heartland Festival at Engeskov Castle with the Pet store Boys and dined at Broholm Slot (castle). I found out from Bente and Carsten at Skaarupøre Vingaard that the comparatively small island offers not only super food but also wine. Of course, golf was also the theme of my trip. I was actually only lucky with the weather at Langeland Golf Glub, as it was pouring with rain at Svendborg, Odense Evetyr and Great Northern Golfresort. Too bad, because the latter was one of the best in Denmark. But the visits to the many interesting museums, such as Brandts Kunstmuseum, Johannes Larsen and the Viking Museum, were well worth it. And of course the highlight was the Hans Christian Anders Museum in Odense, the most beautiful museum I have ever come across. From the outside, it's a stylish circular wooden building in the middle of a natural garden and inside, everything you need to know about the fairy-tale poet and his life - presented in a modern way and with great attention to detail in many different ways. And what the "hygge" was all about and the elegant hotels, such as the Stella Maris in Svenborg, will be revealed in the next story. www.visitfyn.com
