Over 100 quality criteria are tested, e.g. image of the golf club (club life, club culture), secretariat, services, catering, practice facilities and playing surfaces (tees, fairways, etc.). Leading Golf Courses and World of leading Golf
The former were launched in Austria back in 1999, initiated by Golf in Austria CEO Hans Ruisz, and are now represented by 13 clubs. In 2002, The Leading Golf Courses of Germany e.V. followed as a quality brand for Germany with 35 clubs today and 5 years later, the Swiss Leading Golf Courses Switzerland joined with 5 clubs. As of January 1, 2018, there will be the "Leading Golf Clubs of Germany" in Germany with a new logo. The "World of Leading Golf" association (formerly Leading Golf Courses Europe), which was founded in 2012, is also concerned with the highest internationally valid quality standards. It also offers the discerning golfer a selection of internationally outstanding golf clubs and resorts that promise golf at the very highest level in every respect. Last year, the "best of the best" included the GC Son Gual on Mallorca, the newcomer Costa Navarino in Greece, the Monte Rei Golf & Country Club in Portugal, the Hardenberg Golf Resort in Germany, Le Golf International Paris, as the new Ryder Cup course, the Royal Park I Roveri in Italy and the Stoke Park & Country Club in England.
