Anniversary celebration as a special kind of family reunion on May 22 in Schladming
It was to be a celebration - with cherished friends from the Austrian golf scene, hoteliers and golf clubs from the very beginning, with the prospect of a glittering party, a golf tournament on one of the most beautiful Alpine courses in Austria, the Leading Golf Course of Austria "Dachstein Tauern" and last but not least a symposium that hits the nerve of the times: the topic of "service". The icing on the cake is a location that already made a name for itself at this year's World Championships - the brand new Falkensteiner Schladming.
Reason enough to be there and not only enjoy the téte à téte with friends but also take away the message of the five top-class speakers.

They came from all corners of Austria, some in traditional costume, others in business attire and of course there was a general "hello", because after all, people know each other from both good and bad times. And right now, these are not exactly rosy: stagnating growth rates in the clubs, declining green fee income and the permanently bad weather is also having a negative impact on bed occupancy in the hotels. But complaining is a thing of the past, hence the 6th symposium with the theme "Service".
A sunny May day - incidentally the last of this rainy, cold spring month - was the perfect day for this special symposium. The focus was on the topic of "Service", which was addressed by five well-known speakers - with food for thought and practical examples to further improve the already rich potential of Austrian hospitality. They talked about golf marketing on the internet and entering the social web, about the commitment to customer loyalty via golf, as BMW has been doing for years, as well as about optimal service on the course and in the hotel - specifically geared to the needs of golfers and finally about the "humanity principle", the empathic intelligence that expresses itself in the appreciation, interest and recognition of the guest. These are all things that many a receptionist in the club office or at the hotel reception misses.
We could have added another 100 examples from our own journalistic experience. As the grand finale, the 25 members from the very beginning - i.e. since 1988 - were presented with gifts. With the party in the "Falkensteiner Schladming" with a gala menu, live music and the Nearest to the Pin competition on the Adavantec Sports Simulator in the bar, the hotel proved to be the perfect party location.
