An invitation to the Heitlinger worlds of pleasure

What can give a golfer the greatest pleasure - apart from golf? Good food, fine wines and a perfect hotel within easy reach of the golf course, of course. The building contractor and Motel One co-founder Heinz Heiler in the Kraichgau region of Baden managed to combine all of this and also take over two wineries. His four "Hs" stand for the hotels (Kreuzberghof and Heitlinger Hof), Heitlinger Restaurants, the Heitlinger Golf Resort, which includes 18 holes + 6 practice holes, and the Heitlinger Winery, which is one of the largest organic wineries in Germany. Last but not least, the "Burg Ravensburg" winery in Sulzfeld is one of the oldest wineries in the world (since 1251), and the Heiler-Jacklin family business - led by CEO Christine Jacklin and her sons Philip and Patrick - ensures that quality, sustainability, an awareness of tradition and a good measure of modernity are not neglected.

A pleasure trip to Tuscany in Germany

Admittedly, it is a long way to Tiefenbach in the Östringen district of Baden, where the 5-star Heitlinger Hof, the latest domicile of the Genusswelt, was recently opened. A stylish hotel with lots of glass and rose beds in front, 31 rooms, its own spa and a golf course just around the corner. A terraced vineyard leads directly to the winery, where a guided tour is highly recommended. The fact that only quality wines are produced here is due to the special microclimate and the calcareous soils in the hills of the Kraichgau. This is also where the wine tasting takes place, between vines, field flowers and the best view of the idyllic village of Tiefenbach with its 1300 inhabitants. The wines to be tasted were mainly Burgundy wines, such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Auxerrois, of which up to one million bottles are sold every year. Here you will also learn that the ripe grapes are gently pressed and fermented under optimal conditions, avoiding pumping processes and using state-of-the-art technology. The biodynamically produced Burgundy wines under the "Heitlinger" brand are now sold in 40 countries. Incidentally, the first natural wine collection will also be available from this summer.
Further tastings of these delicious wines are also available at the "Albatros" restaurant on the golf course and at the family's second hotel, the "Kreuzberghof". Idyllically situated by the Kreuzbergsee lake, the 4-star hotel in a cozy country house style is just the right counterpart to the modern Heitlinger Hof. Thanks to its paradisiacal location and excellent cuisine, which is known far beyond Tiefenbach, the hotel with its 40 rooms is often booked as a conference or wedding location.

The name "Jacklin" as a guarantee of success

Who doesn't know him, the best British major player and Ryder Cup captain Tony Jacklin, whose close friendship with Jack Niklas led to the opening of the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton/Florida. For two years now, there has even been a "Nicklaus Jacklin Award" for special golfing achievements. His son Warren moved to the Kraichgau region years ago and is now responsible for the Heitlinger Golf Resort, whose 18 holes he brilliantly built into the Kraichgau hills, earning him many plaudits. On the one hand, because no two courses are the same and the back nine really disappears into the hills between the vineyards. Secondly, because there are many bunkers and "blind holes" and a cart looks like a six-pointer. On the other hand, there are few water obstacles and wonderful views over the lush vineyard landscape. However, the heart of the course is the stylish clubhouse with an elegant pro store, great fashion and all the bells and whistles, such as a members' lounge with TV screens for sports broadcasts, fitness and sauna through to top tracer technology. The excellent "Albatros" restaurant with its large terrace and view of the 18th green on the small lake serves fine cuisine with premium wines from its own VDP vineyards, tailored to the golfer but also to fine parties and weddings.
Only here is the "Albatros" served as a specialty, which is otherwise not available to buy.
