Yoga in Motion
Let's Dance! Yoga has many faces - it shows its most beautiful through "Yoga in Motion"!
In the popular yoga dance classes by performer and dancer Malika Fankha, classical positions from vinyasa yoga and martial arts are combined with elements from contemporary dance to create a flowing, aesthetic work of art.
Let's Move! This time, my yoga mat is allowed to rest at home for a change, because this is about conquering the whole room "in motion" - and moving the mind and soul as well as the body! With the new, unfamiliar movement sequences, it means getting out of the rigidity of my comfort zone, moving beyond self-imposed boundaries into previously unknown territory ... a new awareness of the body awakens, the mind begins to walk on new paths and the soul is freed from suppressed emotions.
Let's be passionate! For "Yoga in Motion" I don't have to be a professional dancer or an enlightened yogini - the passion for movement to dynamic beats is what counts! Step by step, we work together to develop a choreography of sequences that flow into each other, combined with conscious breathing. Not only is it great fun, I also feel like I'm "live on stage"!
Let's stay in the city! Conveniently, I don't have to travel too far afield for this performance of a different kind of yoga, as the perfect stage is so close by, in "my city"! With its light-flooded rooms in a building from the Wilhelminian era and a view of the Künstlerhaus, YogaKula is undoubtedly the most beautiful yoga studio in Vienna's city center and regularly offers "Yoga in Motion" workshops. And RE:TREAT, an exciting newcomer among Vienna's yoga studios on Mariahilfer Strasse, also hosts weekly "Yoga in Motion" classes with Malika Fankha.
