Pssst, top secret! For thousands of years, only selected monks were introduced to the teachings of Lu Jong in the remote monasteries of Tibet. It is thanks to the Tibetan doctor and monk Tulku Lobsang that the once secret yoga teachings have now found their way into the Western world.

Lucky me! Because in the stylish ambience of the "Gräflicher Park Grand Resort" in Bad Driburg, I was also able to immerse myself in the secrets of Tibetan healing yoga during a 3-day yoga workshop with Ralf Bauer, TV star and passionate follower of Lu Jong!
"Don't be eyecandy, be soulfood" could be the secret mission of the actor with the license to break hearts - and the Tibetan proverb "The secret of a long life is: eat half, walk twice, laugh three times and love without measure" is his inspiration! In a world where stress-related illnesses and burn-out have become the norm, Ralf Bauer believes that regular yoga practice, meditation and conscious nutrition are the best way to restore the ultimate balance of mind, body and soul. And so, in addition to the yoga sessions, the workshop also includes insights into Tibetan Buddhism and Tibetan nutritional teachings, spiced up with a good pinch of humor and full of idealism and lightness!
The names of the individual yoga positions sound almost like poetry: for example, when "the falcon turns in the wind" or "a new mountain rises between four continents" - combined with rhythmic breathing, they form an easy-to-learn and effective sequence of movements, even for Lu Jong novices like me, to allow the energy in the body to flow freely again and thus counteract physical or mental complaints.
The "Gräflicher Park Grand Resort" offers the perfect stage for this: the traditional spa hotel has stood for luxury, well-being and first-class medical wellness for 230 years - nestled in one of the most idyllic landscaped gardens in Germany, I encounter historical flair at every turn. The rooms in the various "lodging houses" are lovingly and eco-friendly designed in different styles, with a focus on organic and regional cuisine. The natural remedies of water and moor have been used here for centuries to stay healthy. In addition to carbonic acid mineral baths and mud treatments in the Medical Spa, a visit to the modern Garden Spa is an absolute must! After a few lengths in the outdoor pool filled with spring water, I'm already looking forward to the "room with a view" feeling in the sauna. Because with the magnificent view from the panoramic window into the lush greenery of the gardens, fogged only by the steam of sporadic infusions, sweating is so much more fun!
During a long walk in the count's park, the quote from the philosopher Khalil Gibran comes to mind once again: "Trees are poems that the earth writes in the sky." In a place of power like this, surrounded by beautiful nature, slowing down truly becomes an easy exercise!

Tashi Delek - happiness and blessings!
