SPAcation in Dubai
These days, it's not exactly easy to stay centered and calmly breathe away all the stress of lockdown. The corona travel trend is clearly moving towards couch safaris or, if possible, extended staycations, quasi home office on the beach. Dubai is one of the few remote destinations where it is possible to take time out without quarantine. And so I escape to the desert metropolis with a mask, baby elephant and negative PCR test in my luggage to finally be able to enjoy wellness and the sea again.
But Mirror Mirror on the wall, tell me - which of the countless hotel palaces that line Dubai's beaches like pearls on a necklace are the most beautiful in the whole country, which spa is the best? Apps such as Privilee or Entertainer promise perfect body & soul when it comes to this crucial question - bliss for all those who want to enjoy Dubai's dazzling hotel and wellness scene to the full without having to lay their head in a different luxury hotel every night. As a temporary member, I have unlimited access to some of the finest hotel pools and beach clubs. Atlantis The Palm, Ritz-Carlton, W Hotels, Waldorf, Anantara, Kempinski and Co. - I can enjoy "All In One" and reserve my sun lounger in a different luxury hotel every day free of charge, including gym, fitness and yoga classes. And with great discounts and 2for1 offers on wellness treatments and in the hotel restaurants, it's even more fun to feast my way through all the menus and spa menus. I treat myself to a visit to Dubai's largest wellness oasis on 8200m2. The Talise Ottoman Spa at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray pays homage to palaces from the Ottoman era and exudes pure fairytale opulence. After a hammam and a decadent body mask made of roses and gold, I feel like a princess in A Thousand and One Nights. Then I send myself off to the desert: the Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa is built in the style of a historic Arabian fort and is an idyllic change from the city with its stylish pool and terrace overlooking the dunes. A rainforest in the desert? The Ritz-Carlton al Wadi makes it possible with its Rainforest Spa Experience. The resort is certainly one of the most extraordinary in the UAE. At the Anantara Spa on the Palm, I even feel like I'm in Thailand. At the end of my SPAcation, I indulge in oriental beauty dreams, have soaked up plenty of vitamin sea and am floating on waves of relaxed bliss.
