The unique Wörthersee Yoga Trail offers the structure and sequence of a classic yoga class with body, breathing and mindfulness exercises in the midst of the beautiful natural surroundings. And the legendary Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden is also in the yoga flow! Several times a week, guests can find their inner center with yoga. And when it even calls for a 4-day exclusive yoga retreat, a thoroughbred yogini like me naturally doesn't hesitate for long and heads off to the sunny south of Austria without a second thought! Because with a view of Lake Wörthersee, in a fairytale castle setting, an exciting journey through the dazzling world of asanas awaits me on my "yoga luxury vacation", led by the two extremely lovely top yoga teachers Nicola Silva Felsberger and Beate Kalt. A gentle awakening of body and mind in Yin Yoga, the reblooming of my life energies and the balancing of my chakras in dynamic Asthanga and Hatha Yoga, a "Detox Your Heart" session to let go of emotional baggage, quiet mindfulness morning meditations and, as a crowning finale, even Acrobatic Yoga, "learning to fly" - feeling included!
Chef Andreas Block and Armin Gupf, head chef of the gourmet restaurants Schlossstern and Bartholomäus, offer excellent yoga for the palate. For the participants of the yoga retreat, they are devoting themselves entirely to Ayurvedic cuisine at star level with a sophisticated twist. The extremely delicate results are light, fine creations that would make many an experienced top chef in the South Indian Ayurveda stronghold of Kerala green with envy!
Relaxing between sessions is more than deserved! Unfortunately, I am spoiled for choice: on one of the beautifully designed floating four-poster beds in the spacious rest & relaxation areas of the 3600 m² Acquapura Spa & Med, in the light-flooded "Schlosshotel Romantic Spa Suite" including private pool, herbal steam bath and relaxing waterbeds, with one of the award-winning beauty treatments, at the indoor or garden pool with hydro-massage loungers, in the chicest beach club on the lake or completely in my bathtub with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows and - what else? - a view of Lake Wörthersee!
