Travel meets Veganuary
Vegan into the new year
Plant-based nutrition is playing an important role in more and more hotels. This is mainly because the desire for vegan alternatives has grown over the years. Travelers increasingly appreciate a wide range of culinary options and the variety that vegan cuisine brings to the plate. Hotels participating in Veganuary 2021 include Son Brull Hotel & Spa Mallorca and Velaa Private Island in the Maldives.
Velaa Private Island
Culinary luxury does not always mean lobster or caviar. At Velaa Private Island, the focus is on vegan options and dishes. Head chef Gaushan De Silva creates true works of art from purely plant-based products and the finest ingredients. Risotto with pumpkin, mushrooms and vegan parmesan cheese or vegetable tartare with avocado and green beans. No one will find a vegan diet difficult here. The luxury resort is also home to the largest coral regeneration project in the Maldives and has been able to increase coral growth on the island by several percent since its launch thanks to the successful cultivation and transplantation of corals.
