Orient Express La Dolce Vita
The return to Italy
45 years after the end of the Paris-Rome Express, Italy lovers can once again indulge in luxury rail tourism. From 2023, the Orient Express La Dolce Vita will be launched as a cooperation between the Accor brand Orient Express and Arsenale with six trains and journeys through 14 Italian regions as well as to the three international destinations of Paris, Istanbul and Split. It will cover a total of 16,000 kilometers in Italy, of which 7,000 kilometers are not electrified. Passengers can expect luxurious, decelerated and sustainable journeys along historic routes and iconic destinations.
From 2024, guests on the Orient Express La Dolce Vita will also be able to stay in the first Orient Express Hotel in Rome. The Orient Express Hotel Minerva in a former 17th century Palazzo Fonseca has 93 rooms and 24 suites as well as a Guerlain spa.
A tribute to "La Dolce Vita"
The luxury train is home to twelve deluxe cabins, 18 suites and an honorary suite as well as a restaurant with decorative elements from the 1960s and 1970s. The concept, created by the Milan design studio, pays homage to "La Dolce Vita" in 1960s Italy. The Orient Express La Dolce Vita combines the Italian art of living and its traditions with a contemporary spirit of travel. In the on-board restaurant, passengers enjoy award-winning Italian wines and exclusive haute cuisine "made in Italy". Refreshments are available in the Orient Express Executive Lounge before departure from Roma Termini station.
Travel experiences for all five senses
The aim of the travel routes is to offer an emotional travel experience that appeals to all five senses. The Orient Express La Dolce Vita crosses Italy from north to south and takes travelers on extraordinary routes through the country, to lakes, forests, coasts and mountains, but also to cities such as Milan, Florence, Venice and Rome. In a nod to the golden age of the Orient Express and its legendary route, La Dolce Vita also connects Rome with Paris, Istanbul and Split. The Rome-Paris train follows part of the historic route of the famous Paris-Rome Express along the Italian and French coasts. On the journey from Rome via Venice to Istanbul, the focus is on cities of art and culture along the historic route of the Orient Express. The train also follows part of this route on its way from Rome via Venice and Trieste to Split.
