Time Out Meets Family Time
There’s that moment on the second day of vacation when the kids naturally disappear into the playroom, the riding stables beckon, or the tube slide at the rock pool has long since become the main attraction—and suddenly, there’s time. Real, undivided time. For a long breakfast. For a conversation that isn’t interrupted after ten minutes. For the view from the parents’ spa out into the Bavarian Forest.
Everything at the ULRICHSHOF is geared toward precisely this moment. Nikolaus Brandl, who runs the hotel alongside his brother as part of the second generation, sums it up simply: “We don’t want to keep guests busy. We want to give them space.” There are structural reasons why this works: Nearly 300 employees care for the guests in 117 suites—a ratio that has become rare in the European hotel industry. It is the foundation for fulfilling two promises simultaneously at the ULRICHSHOF that often compete elsewhere: great adventures for the children and a true retreat for the parents.
Great adventures for little explorers
The 10,000-square-meter Spiel-KISTE—with a climbing paradise, bumper cars, bowling, and a movie theater—is a world of its own; the forest playground and the on-site riding stable are another. For the youngest guests, there is the lovingly run Nest’erl childcare center, as well as the Muckasackal, a play area specifically for babies and toddlers. What the children don’t notice, but the parents do immediately: This isn’t just scheduled entertainment, but care provided with heart.
Wellness between adventure and retreat
At the same time, a 5,500-square-meter wellness area opens up, taking the concept of spatial separation to its logical conclusion. While the waterfall roars in the Felsen-BAD and children play and romp exuberantly, the separate Parents’ SPA and Forest SPA are enveloped in a silence that sounds almost utopian on a family vacation—yet here, it is part of everyday life.
Cuisine with sophistication and character
Culinary delights accompany guests throughout the day at the “Genießer-ZEIT” wellness inn, from breakfast through the Vital Lunch to the evening buffet, with a clear commitment to regional and seasonal ingredients. Those seeking a more upscale experience can make a reservation at the “OHM” Panorama Restaurant. High up on the sixth floor, indulgence is a top priority: an à la carte menu or a romantic candlelit dinner menu treats guests to Bavarian cuisine with a modern twist.
Luxury with a View
Those seeking the extraordinary will find unique retreats at the ULRICHSHOF that meet the highest standards. The exclusive pool suites enchant with their special atmosphere. The penthouse, spanning 150 square meters, features a panoramic rooftop terrace, a private sauna, and a 9-meter infinity pool—plus a view of the Bavarian Forest that guarantees unforgettable vacation moments.
Architecturally, the building maintains a pleasant restraint. Lots of wood, natural materials, integrated plants—the outdoors flows indoors rather than being overdecorated. The result is a resort that doesn’t look or feel like a family hotel. Instead, it feels like a place where a family can truly unwind for a week—each in their own way, yet together in the end.
