April: Brunfels Hotel
Experience Mainz from its most beautiful side at the new Brunfels Hotel
The Brunfels is a place where history, style and nature come together - nestled in the charming old town of Mainz, surrounded by historic alleyways, the cathedral and the flair of one of Germany's oldest cities. Modern tradition characterizes the concept of the hotel: the combination of German culture with contemporary accents is reflected in the cuisine, design and ambience. Inspired by Otto Brunfels, a native of Mainz and pioneer of modern botany, traditional hospitality merges with state-of-the-art luxury and a spectacular, floral-inspired interior. As part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, the Brunfels is more than just accommodation - it is a tribute to the harmony of nature and the fascination of urban living.
Comfort at the highest level
The 127 rooms and suites of the boutique hotel are lovingly designed retreats that create a connection between elegance and nature. Warm wooden elements, soft colors and light-flooded rooms convey a feeling of security and invite you to relax. The Brunfels offers a wide range of categories that focus on the different needs and preferences of the guests. The accommodation options range from double rooms to luxurious suites - particularly popular are those with balconies offering a view of the rooftops of Mainz, all of which are equipped with modern extras and combine comfort with stylish aesthetics.
A journey of discovery for the palate
The in-house Brunfels Restaurant is an absolute highlight. Head chef Kevin Petersen, who previously worked under celebrity chef Tim Raue, and his team combine traditional recipes with modern lightness. Petersen focuses on regional products and international accents to bring German cuisine to life in a new way. The menu, which he has designed with a keen sense of flavors and craftsmanship, ranges from creative snacks such as rösti with veal tartare and umami caviar to main courses such as North Sea halibut fried in nut butter or crispy pork belly from the May organic farm.
The bar adjoining the restaurant is the beating heart of the hotel and transports guests into the world of botanicals. Signature drinks inspired by herbs and plants that Otto Brunfels once explored are on the menu, as are classic cocktails. With over 30 craft gins, the bar offers a selection that is unparalleled in Germany. The wine list celebrates the region's winemaking legacy - Rheinhessen and Rheingau, some of the best vineyards in Germany, are located in the immediate vicinity - as well as the variety of international wines. For beer lovers, there is an in-house beer from local craft brewer Kuehn Kunz Rosen.
Specials for every week - Best Food, Drinks & Beats in Town
With varied events and culinary highlights, Brunfels offers a variety of occasions for a visit. "Tuesday never tasted this good" - because every Tuesday the bar becomes the Oyster & Champagne Lounge. On Wednesdays, the new after-work series Café del Mainz attracts guests with relaxed beats, changing drink specials and creative tapas. At Dinner's Club every second Thursday, the evening starts with a three-course menu accompanied by a live DJ. From 9 p.m., hip sounds increase the party factor - cocktail included.
Dynamic meeting place for guests and locals
The Brunfels is not just a retreat, but also a meeting place. Spacious communal areas such as the lobby and the covered, heated inner courtyard encourage playful social interaction through art, music and lovingly curated events. This creates a vibrant community at Brunfels, making the hotel an integral part of city life and a dynamic meeting place for locals and guests alike.
Experience the Rhine-Main region
Mainz is a city that tells stories - and the Brunfels is the ideal starting point for experiencing them. Guests can reach the city's highlights in just a few minutes: the imposing Mainz Cathedral, the Gutenberg Museum and the artistic Chagall windows in the parish of St. Stephan. For wine lovers, Rheinhessen and the Rheingau, home to some of Germany's best wines, are right on the doorstep. Picturesque vineyards, quaint wineries and tasty tastings can be explored as part of a day trip. The neighboring city of Wiesbaden and the metropolis of Frankfurt am Main with its impressive skyline, world-famous museums and the Frankfurt Trade Fair are also just a stone's throw away. Whether for business or pleasure - the location of the Brunfels makes it easy to discover the most beautiful corners of the Rhine-Main region.
