Vacation auctions for a good cause
LUX* Resorts & Hotels awards stays to highest bidders
"Making Each Moment Matter" - this is the vision of LUX* Resorts & Hotels. For ten years now, the luxury brand has dedicated itself to the promise of offering its guests extraordinary experiences in different locations. The brand is now celebrating its tenth anniversary with a special charity auction.
Minimum bid: 500 euros
It's not things that are going under the hammer, but a total of ten ten-night stays in some of the world's most exotic destinations. Each auction will benefit a different local charity. For example, bidding for a stay at the LUX* Grand Gaube Resort & Villas supports the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation. This foundation is committed to protecting endangered species and ecosystems on the island. On La Réunion, the proceeds from the auction at the LUX* Saint Gilles Resort will go to the Association Les Milles - an association dedicated to supporting the education of disadvantaged children.
"Our hotels all play a role within the community in which they are located, and we wanted to use this opportunity to promote vacations that in turn benefit the local economy and the various causes we believe in," said Julian Hagger, Executive Vice President of The Lux Collective.
Anyone can take part - and it's easy too. Simply follow the Instagram account @luxresorts and share the post of the auction you would like to bid on in a story on your own account. You need to tag @luxresorts and set your account to "public". In the post, you state the amount you are bidding for the stay. To be considered, the bid must be at least 100 USD higher than the current bid. The minimum bid is 500 USD per stay. The auction ends after 24 hours and the winner is announced. 100 percent of the proceeds go to the charitable organization that the hotel has individually selected as a partner.
The auction - as extraordinary as it is meaningful - demonstrates what LUX* stands for: casual and sensual experiences with creative pop-up surprises that make the ordinary extraordinary.
