SLH - Sustainable Collection
Small Luxury Hotels of the World founds Considerate Collection
Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) of the World has launched the Considerate Collection, which brings together boutique hotels with special ecological standards. These pioneering hotels are intended to prove that luxury and longevity are compatible. The collection comprises 26 hotels in 16 countries, including the StrofJord Hotel in Norway, the Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary in Shaba/Bhutan and the Hotel Nantipa in Costa Rica.
SLH currently has more than 520 hotels in 90 countries in its portfolio. The hotels in the new Considerate Collection, with their holistic approach to sustainability, are intended to complement the long-term brand vision. "We have carefully curated the Considerate Collection to shine a spotlight on luxury boutique hotels with exemplary sustainability efforts and make it easier for customers and the travel industry to make informed choices," explains Daniel Luddington, VP of Development, Small Luxury Hotels of the World. "Staying in small, independent hotels goes hand in hand with sustainable travel, and all SLH hotels are already steeped in the many facets of sustainable hospitality, so we didn't have to look far outside our portfolio for the new collection. We also have an exciting pipeline of new hotels that we will be adding in the coming months."
The project is supported by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council and Greenview, whose platform is the only tool for sustainable tourism management recognized by the GSTC. The Considerate Collection criteria are aligned with the GSTC criteria and include three pillars to ensure that all hotels are community-oriented, culturally conscious and environmentally aware. Each Considerate Collection hotel has either been certified by a GSTC-accredited certification body or to a GSTC-recognized standard, or has passed an assessment by the SLH Sustainability Advisory Panel with verification by the GSTC. slh.com/considerate
