Alex Lake Zurich offers a drive-in for boats

Picnics, which have become increasingly popular again in recent months due to the circumstances, traditionally take place on the grass. Not so in Switzerland. In future, all boaters, sailors, rowers and kayakers will be able to enjoy their meal directly on the water. This is made possible by the unique "Boat Away" service of the boutique hotel Alex Lake Zurich.


Picnic to boat


The Hotel Alex is located in Thalwil, directly on Lake Zurich. It is a member of The Living Circle and as such is defined by its connection with nature. Like the three other member hotels, the three agricultural member businesses, the Rustico and the restaurant in the collection, the Alex Lake Zurich also offers unique experiences that are celebrated as true luxury in today's world. This also includes the new "Boat Away" service. Anyone out and about on the lake can simply choose their picnic from an extensive menu to suit their taste. Instead of take-away and home delivery, picnic service on the boat is now the trend.

Whether it's the legendary "The Living Circle Plättli" with cheese from the hotel's own dairy farm Schlattgut, a tender beef tartare or a fruity "Schlattgutküberli" with sweet sorbets: one call is all it takes for the Alex Hotel to prepare everything you need. This is accompanied by sparkling cold drinks and various wines, including some from the hotel's own Terreni alla Maggia farm in Ticino. Once the order is ready, the finished basket can be collected from the jetty. Whether for lunch, on a quiet afternoon or at sunset - Lake Zurich is the perfect backdrop for any trip to the water.
