Five new sustainable brands
Banyan Tree doubles in size
The independent hotel group Banyan Tree currently has 54 hotels in 23 countries. Now the brand is making a name for itself with major expansion plans. It wants to double its global presence in the next two years. The company is already taking the first step in this direction in the next 18 months. Banyan Tree will then introduce five new brands. They all focus on sustainable travel.
Stay for Good
They are called Garrya, Homm, Folio, Veya and Escape: the five new brands from Banyan Tree. Each of them is the answer to a new travel trend. The macroeconomic and regional changes accelerated by the pandemic require a flexible response. For example, vacation destinations have changed. There has been an upswing in previously unknown destinations. And travelers are also demanding wellness and sustainability offers.
Banyan Tree is considered one of the pioneers in this respect. The proprietary "Stay for Good" program forms the framework for all of the Group's brands. It is based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Banyan Tree also promotes responsible business practices and guest experiences. There are three core areas that are particularly close to the Group's heart: the environment, society and responsibility for stakeholders.
All of the Group's brands pursue this mission. Every location, no matter where it is, is committed to preserving the ecosystem, promoting biodiversity and raising guest awareness through sustainability and educational programs. In addition, the Group is committed to reducing energy and water consumption every year. It provides sustainable jobs. Employees can take advantage of further training programs and subsidies. In the "Seedlings Program", more than 100 young people receive training, mentoring and scholarships. The parent company and all its new brands are also committed to a sustainable supply chain and responsible tourism.
Eddy See, President of the Banyan Tree Group explains: "We strive to be a role model and leader in our field, inspiring our guests and employees to live better lives in all the communities in which we operate." The Group is now planning a total of 19 openings in 7 countries for 2022. This year, the company's various brands will gain a foothold in the Maldives, Thailand, China, Indonesia, Cambodia, Mozambique and Saudi Arabia.
