Caribbean Island Hopping

From November, Condor Airlines will be offering weekly direct flights to Barbados and to Antigua & Barbuda. Here we reveal which neighboring islands are worth a hop in the air from there.

St. Kitts & Nevis
The sister islands of St. Kitts and Nevis, which are only two kilometers apart, are an independent state with high mountains covered in rainforest. Mount Liamuiga even reaches a height of 1,156 meters! If you buy a property on the islands for more than 400,000 US dollars, you can even become a citizen.

Antigua & Barbuda
With its paradisiacal beaches, Antigua wants to make a name for itself as the most romantic of all the Caribbean islands. That's why it has focused particularly on honeymooners in recent years. The unspoiled sister island of Barbuda, on the other hand, is positioning itself as a top destination for divers and snorkelers. What both islands have in common is an intact and species-rich rainforest.

Dominica
Waterfalls, freshwater lakes and beaches with black volcanic sand: these are just some of the highlights that

The landscape here has not yet taken its final shape, as the world's second largest thermal spring, Boiling Lake, continues to shape and change the earth's surface to this day. Bird lovers will also get their money's worth on Dominica: the Emperor Amazon parrots in the mountain forests are unique in the world.

St. Lucia
There was great joy when Julien Alfred won gold for St. Lucia as the fastest runner in the world at the

Barbados
The easternmost of the Caribbean islands, unlike many others, was not formed by volcanic activity but consists mainly of coral and limestone. The 430 square kilometer republic is located north of Trinidad and southeast of Martinique. Also good to know: While some other islands in the Greater Antilles sometimes don't have bathing weather in winter, temperatures in Barbados are consistently around 30°C and the sun
3,000 hours of sunshine a year.

Grenada
Grenada presents itself as the spice island of the Caribbean and is known for the export of cinnamon and nutmeg. Visitors can also dive into an underwater sculpture park or traverse various ecological subsystems in the Grand Etang National Park. The island is particularly committed to sustainability and also encourages visitors to be environmentally friendly.
