For 16 years now, Connoisseur Circle's tried and tested criteria have been perfectly applied in the selection of the year: we use modern technology and the in-depth editorial expertise of our hotel experts to determine the annual winners.

Because hand on heart: what "expert" can claim to have thoroughly tested all the hotels in a country? What is more profound is the combination of objective data and subjective impressions and experiences. This is precisely why Connoisseur Circle also took a broad approach to the decision-making basis at the start of the voting in 2025 and drew on the results of TrustYou, the world's best "satisfaction tester" in the hospitality industry.
Together with the digital professionals from TrustYou, the editorial team uses test factors provided by Connoisseur Circle - such as the highest quality of service - to determine a data set that serves as the basis for the final selection. The second factor then comes into play: subjective market knowledge and personal experience. In a test and evaluation phase lasting several weeks, Connoisseur Circle readers and users were invited to take part in the online voting. A specially developed page for the evaluation process enabled more than 312,000 participants to enter their own personal impressions of each of the nominated hotels into the system based on TrustYou's findings.
The fact is: South Tyrol has been a first-class tourist region for years. More than 150 hotels in South Tyrol have managed to attract the highest level of attention in the Connoisseur Circle: what an excellent achievement that we would like to put in front of the curtain!
