At the Verdura Resort in Sicily, wellness programs, golf, spa treatments, and fine dining come together to create an idyllic microcosm.
At the Verdura Resort, a Rocco Forte Hotel, on Sicily’s southern coast, tour-level golf courses , a 4,000-square-meter spa, and a scientifically grounded longevity program blend with the resort’s clearly structured architecture. The buildings are low-rise, featuring natural materials and a restrained design language to keep the view of the landscape and sea unobstructed. 203 rooms and suites, complemented by 20 freestanding private villas on the hillside, form the backbone of the luxurious offerings. From here, the resort’s amenities unfold: tennis and padel courts, pools, children’s and youth areas, conference facilities, seven restaurants, and four bars. A current focus is on the renovated rooms and suites: 58 units have been refurbished, and a new category has been added: the Two-Bedroom Pool Suite. Notably absent are the usual classic kitchenettes, replaced by a Grand Bar & Wine Cellar concept as the centerpiece of the room, which elevates the theme of indulgence in a private setting.
A central theme of the resort is longevity—not as a buzzword, but as a defined program. The starting point is the scientifically documented “Blue Zone” in the nearby Sicani Mountains, particularly in the village of Caltabellotta, about 22 kilometers from the resort. In cooperation with researchers, studies have been conducted over the years to investigate why the local population exhibits remarkably high vitality and life expectancy. Verdura incorporates these scientific findings and translates them into a structured longevity program. At the same time, Verdura positions itself as a golf destination: two 18-hole courses and a 9-hole par-3 course form the sporting center. The courses—East Links and West Shore—have been redesigned and optimized along the coastline.
