The Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh
Rich in dimensions
At least two people should climb into the dark marble bathtub set into the floor so that you don't feel so lonely there. In terms of space, however, the bathtub is far from being exhausted and you can also move around freely in the shower without bumping into anything. The bathroom with its separate toilet - there is also a second guest toilet - and adjoining walk-in closet is a "whole family can live here" dimension. This also applies to the living area, naturally with XXL flat screen, the adjoining dining room and the kitchen.
You're unlikely to be cooking here, but if you're not dining outside in the "dining pavilion", you can be served at the large table by the room service that will appear shortly if you don't want to leave your little hideaway. The food served is not fine dining, but of solid quality. At lunchtime, The Pergola restaurant is a great place to sit by the pool and the more sedate, cosmopolitan clientele can enjoy salads, pizza, pasta, burgers and other snacks with a view of the Red Sea. In the evening, the cozy courtyard of the main restaurant beckons, but the food is better in the Indian restaurant Zaafran.
The service here, as in the entire hotel, is always present and responds to criticism immediately, but sometimes seems almost too eager to please. The Oberoi also shines with its natural beach. How could it be otherwise, there is plenty of space here too, the loungers are far apart, as the beach stretches over a length of 850 meters. Snorkeling can be done via the jetty on the house reef and divers can contact the diving school.
Of course, the spa and fitness center also meet high standards. The spa offers a wide range of massages, including Thai, Hawaiian, Indonesian, after-sun and Ayurvedic massages. Incidentally, the resort is embedded in around 20 hectares of hilly terrain, which has been designed in a "desert style". Overly lush greenery has been deliberately avoided; instead, well-tended sandy areas, cacti and palm trees dominate the scenery.
