Zannier Hotels Bai San Ho
Paradise between the hills and the sea
Inside, the hideaways are discreetly styled with Vietnamese utensils. Wood, clay, bamboo and palm straw set the tone for the materials. At first, I have a slight problem with the chocolate-brown walls of my Hill Villa. But I quickly get a cozy feeling of security, a kind of "cave feeling" that doesn't feel oppressive thanks to the windows. The floors are remarkable: inside they are knotted from narrow strips of bamboo, outside on the pool terrace they are a mosaic of bricks. No matter which corner of the property you find yourself in, you can sense the care and quality of local craftsmanship everywhere. It is difficult to decide where to spend your vacation on the estate. In the hills, it's the seclusion and panoramic views that count. In the Paddy Villas on wooden stilts, you could watch the rice grow - and in the Beach Villas, the beautiful beach is right on the doorstep. What's more, the open hut restaurant "Lang Chai" is just a stone's throw away.
Enjoying a freshly caught lobster with your feet in the sand is quite something. The palm heart salad with prawns and cashew nuts is also delicious here. The second restaurant with a balcony on the hill is made of stone. The perfect place for breakfast. The menu there is large and varied.
My favorites , however, are the hearty pho and vegetables rolled in tender rice paper. So fortified, the day in paradise can begin.
