Ideal for style-conscious cosmopolitans who appreciate an upscale resort atmosphere
Tortuga Bay, a truly beautiful, classic luxury hotel, is part of the self-contained, private enclave of Puntacana Resort & Club, which also includes Punta Cana International Airport and the Punta Cana Village shopping center. There is also a marina and other hotels such as the Westin and Club Med on the grounds. The 13 colonial-style Tortuga villas were designed by renowned fashion designer Oscar de la Renta. In terms of size: The junior suites are absolutely sufficient for two people. For larger families, there are separate villas with up to four bedrooms. Arriving at the Tortuga Bay Resort and immediately feeling at home is possible from the very first moment, as you are warmly looked after right from the start. This also applies to the chef, who always comes up with something special for lunch and dinner. The excellent breakfast is served in the Bamboo near the pool - also a relaxed place for lunch. The hotel also includes the equally recommendable La Yola on the marina, where you can sit in an open casual dining restaurant inspired by a sailing ship and enjoy excellent seafood. There are also other highly recommended restaurants in the area, such as Playa Blanca on the white sandy beach of the same name.
A short golf cart ride takes you to the golf course and the only Six Senses Spa on the island. Another highlight is the nature reserve belonging to the Puntacana Resort, which is managed by a foundation. In the middle of it are four lagoons with ice-cold water, where you can take a refreshing dip - and should definitely do so.
