For couples and families who like to spend a few hours or a day away from their own resort
It almost feels a bit like Miami Beach: a chic boutique resort right on the wide, long, golden sandy beach, and behind it a lively town with stores, bars, restaurants and numerous leisure activities. Most of the time, however, you can leave Sosua as a tourist hotspot and enjoy the relaxed lifestyle and ambience of the hotel instead. The comfortable daybeds, for example, where a beach concierge is always on hand with coconuts, sorbets and drinks, are ideal for this. Or you can spend the day at the cascading pool landscape, which forms the center of the complex - families prefer the children's pool, couples enjoy the hustle and bustle-free "adults only" counterpart. From the pool to lunch in the main restaurant Baia: a beautiful beach location with excellent cuisine. This is also offered in the beach bar The Rock, where Caribbean cuisine is cooked over an open fire. Cigar, wine and rum fans, on the other hand, are drawn to The Cellar. The very good à la carte breakfast with excellent products should also be highlighted.
Accommodation is in Superior Rooms with garden views or in tastefully furnished suites of various sizes, which we would describe more as modern, comfortable apartments. The majority offer sea views. The view from the premium ocean-front suites, the loft suites and the penthouses is particularly beautiful. The largest suites - all equipped with kitchens and their own plunge pools - extend over three floors and have direct access via a private elevator. We didn't quite like the layout of our suite, as the bedroom was a kind of walk-through room without windows. Unfortunately, the turndown service didn't stop by either. On the other hand, the Ocean Club scores with its combination of design and sustainability. Some of the furniture is made from driftwood in the hotel's own workshop.
