Even though the Mykonos Grand is located on a slope like so many hotels on the island, it is a real beach resort. The two-hectare property stretches right down to the bay.

The beach - also known as "Shirley Valentine" after the film of the same name that was shot here - with reserved loungers for hotel guests can be reached via a few steps. The location and construction of the resort make it necessary to go up and down the stairs - or rather up and down the lift: for example from reception to the room or from the suite to the "Dolphins of Delos" restaurant. In the latter, a Roederer champagne breakfast is served in the morning (there was a lovely rosé at check-in) with an extensive, well-stocked buffet including an egg station, lots of fruit and healthy water. For lunch, head to the casual "Aqua e Sole" right by the large pool. In the evening, the Dolphins kitchen serves up the best Greek-Mediterranean cuisine (large portions) at dinner with live music (a very good saxophonist). The extremely fit and friendly waiters also ensure that you have a consistently good time here.
A good time can also be had in the rooms and especially in the suites. Plenty of space, very good furnishings and nice extras (free Nespresso capsules, lots of bottles of water, a shower that doubles as a steam bath, lots of Bulgari amenities, lots of towels) ensure a high feel-good factor.
The view of the sunset is wonderful from all rooms and suites. In our Suite 101, we were also able to enjoy the fantastic view of the sea from our bed - and jump into our own little pool after waking up. By the way, the turndown service here doesn't start until 10 pm. Quite late, but ok, because many guests first spend a nice evening in nearby Mykonos Town, which can be reached by hotel shuttle.
