Myconian Avaton
Lots of design on the longest island beach
The hardware of the Avaton fits and is characterized by a modern, almost urban design that skilfully plays with its Mediterranean surroundings. Everything looks very cozy and cool - from the large cocoon swing in the lobby to the large photos hanging in the (outdoor) corridors and the porcelain penguins that greet you on your way to the "Panorama" fine dining restaurant. An absolute top chef is at the stove there. The homemade ravioli with prawn filling was very good, as were the calamari and tuna salad. However, if you have booked half board, you have to pay extra for dishes such as fillet or fresh fish - a bad habit, in our opinion.
In the morning, the Panorama-- becomes a breakfast location. Unfortunately, it's a bit "rumbly" and there are no freshly prepared egg dishes. The service was good in the evening and okay in the morning, but the same cannot be said of the waiter at lunch. Unfortunately, he made several major faux pas. That leaves the rooms and suites: Here, too, the design is coherent and the furniture is absolutely appropriate. Very positive for the guest: there are a variety of different room categories. For example, even the smallest room "Pure" can be booked in the simple version with its own jacuzzi or pool. One negative aspect: there are no free bottles of water in the rooms.
