LUX Le Morne
Ready for the movies even without "Cinema Paradiso"
You can have a good time in this hideaway, which was once the setting for the Austrian-German TV Christmas comedy "O Palmenbaum". Lots of greenery lines the 600-metre-long house beach, the tropical garden provides shade, the home-made almond ice cream is delicious and the sunset behind the reef is a daily eye-catcher. And you can never get enough of the majestic mountain of the Le Morne peninsula anyway. During Covid, all rooms have been renovated and are now bright and friendly. And if you manage to get a bungalow with an outdoor shower, you're in luck. In culinary terms, the motto "Go East!" is recommended. - EAST pays homage to Thai cuisine. Even more exquisite: the eight-course omakase dinner at Kawaii. Chef Mart has 10 years of training in Japan behind him and has also worked at Maldives restaurants such as the Waldorf and Cheval Blanc. You can taste it in every bite. You can also dine in a tree house at LUX*: either Mauritian, Mediterranean or "Keen on Green" in the evening. If you want, you can also have a screen rolled out at lofty heights and experience "Cinema Paradiso" for a night. At ground level, a beach dinner by the light of 500 candles is also possible - all of which can be organized by the hotel for good money, as well as swimming with dolphins, a marriage proposal on the Brabant Plateau or a drone to transport the ring. Of course, romance can also flare up completely unplanned in your own junior suite: as a finale to an eventful day, a bubble bath with fresh frangipani blossoms tingles in the free-standing bathtub.
Test highlight: Breakfast in the tree house with a dream view of the lagoon, served by the wide-awake waiter Muddoo.
