Access to paradise can be dizzying: the winding road from Gargnano up to Lefay (Celtic for "fairy") takes six kilometers or 15 minutes by car. But once you have passed the ornate iron gate of the well-hidden luxury spa resort, nothing stands in the way of a festival for all the senses.
It all starts with breakfast outdoors: The freshly blended celery and apple juice tastes even healthier and better in the company of lemon trees, olives, vines and oleanders. Not to mention the view of the nearby hills, mountains, forests and lake. You can't get enough of this panorama, not even from the infinity pool, every swimmer's wet dream: every now and then you take a break from swimming to stop and admire this natural spectacle.
In combination with the award-winning treatments - a fusion of TCM and Western science - the feel-good factor skyrockets to a pretty high level. Poetry is not neglected in the 3,800 m2 spa either - an energetic massage called "The breeze that plays around the body" is booked in. Daria leads us into a light-flooded treatment room with a view of a water lily pond. Lefay, which opened in 2008, also has green fingers. An organic air conditioning system is used for cooling and heating, up to 50 percent of the electricity is self-generated and the rest is purchased via certificates.
