JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa
Hotel jewel in the historically hip Bill Bensley look
In terms of dimensions and decor , Disney World comes to mind. But the fixtures and fittings installed, placed or hung here are a testament to quality and craftsmanship down to the last detail. And it is also coherent. Which is why I wander through the public rooms admiringly rather than shaking my head. Each interior is styled differently, each tells a different nostalgic, romantic story. In the hall, it's a kind of library with old books. The "French& Co" coffee shop is decorated with old scales and coffee grinders. The gourmet restaurant "Pink Pearl" presents itself as a flamboyant boudoir. "Tempus fugit" (Latin for "time flees") resembles a historic canteen kitchen ...
I live on the top floor of the so-called Département de Conchologie. I like the bold color accents in the room, which contrast with the dark wooden furniture. The airy bathroom with lots of storage space is beautiful. From my balcony, I have a view of the sea, beach and palm trees. In between is a scallop-shaped pool. The bright beach, meticulously maintained, slopes gently downwards. I spot a few lively fish in the crystal-clear water, but nothing else that could harm my feet. Looking back at the land, I imagine for a few seconds that I'm splashing around on a Caribbean island. I have never seen such a densely overgrown palm beach in Vietnam, with only the roofs and spires of the confectioners' buildings sticking out.
