Grand Hotel Fasano

A royal playground right on the water

There are hotels that you simply love every second! The Grand Hotel Fasano belongs to this elite group of refined seducers. Although the hunting lodge of the Austrian emperor from the last century, the majestic property is only dusty in places where it is sexy again.
The creaky wooden staircase or the ancient slow-motion lift from around 1888. There is never any danger of falling in this hotel, where the balancing act between historical treasures and high-quality 2021 interiors is not an easy one. The executive double rooms in the main building are freshly renovated, bright, tastefully and stylishly furnished, with an XXL mirror and "made in Italy" armchairs and sofas from Sevensedie. If you need to go to the bathroom at night, a motion detector is activated and the sliding glass toilet door turns into a Capri blue signpost.

In the morning, the curtains can then be opened silently at the touch of a button.
You are immediately magnetically drawn to the balcony, blinking happily at the sun and the wide lake. Directly below you, the 12,000 m2 hotel park makes you feel great. Dozing or reading on a lounger in the shade of palm trees, magnolias, cypresses and banana trees? Or perhaps we'd rather watch the duck colony mowing, sorry, plucking, the lawn. Instead, we decide to waddle a few meters along the gravel path ourselves, take the ladder to the refreshing lake and then dive in and out.

At dinner in the gourmet restaurant Il Fagiano there's not a dry eye in the house: first-class seafood pasta, black cod with herb cream and marinated, warm figs. The grand finale is served in the atmospheric Terrazza. Bar manager Rama Redzepi likes to shake a "Shirley Temple 2.0" out of his sleeve - an adult cocktail with gin, as a nod to Hollywood's famous child star from the 1930s, who was of course also one of the illustrious guests.
