Du Lac et Du Parc
Waking up in the botanical garden.
Regardless of which of the four completely different hotel categories you book, everything is always in the "green zone" - in the truest sense of the word. The view from the window
reliably provides a well-tended, lush jungle with palm trees, deciduous trees and majestic swamp or Kashmir cypresses.
The house itself opened in 1953 as a delicate little plant - a biotope with just 30 rooms. Over the years, it gradually began to grow - currently to over 250 units. La Villa Suites" in a former summer residence manages the balancing act between old and new at an appealing level. Take No. 9203, for example: an extremely cozy interior, with a shower curtain as the only drawback. Mint green walls, star parquet, stucco ceiling, antique furniture, modern lampshades, eat-in kitchen. If you like it thoroughly modern, the Murialdo part of the building opposite is even better.
Since 2015, the Du Lac et du Parc has been repeatedly renovated, from the entrance to the upper floors in the main wing.
Unfortunately, one thing has always remained the same: Breakfast and dinner leave the feeling of a mass diner at peak times. At the farewell dinner in the Aria restaurant, the mercilessly loud music that spilled over unfiltered from a wedding party on the terrace into the restaurant interior was annoying. No separation between party area and dining area - sorry, but that's an absolute no-go! If you want to stay and dine more privately and exclusively in Riva, you don't have far to go - the partner hotel Lido Palace is just a few minutes' walk away.
