To the west of Palma, not far from the village of Es Capdellà, lies the 132-hectare Castell Son Claret. Once a stately country estate, the Hamburg logistics entrepreneur Klaus-Michael Kühne and his wife have lovingly renovated the property, which dates back to 1770, and transformed it into a small luxury resort with a private character.
The view of the Tramuntana mountains, a World Heritage Site, is magnificent. If you are looking for nature, peace, space and plenty of room, you have found your paradise here with its own jogging track, tennis court, modern spa and panoramic saltwater pool. The romantic park can easily compete with the Garden of Eden. There are hidden seating areas and secluded spots everywhere. There is space for 41 rooms and suites in the extensive grounds - some with their own pool, garden or roof terrace. We are staying in one of the new garden suites, tucked away from the main house, with a large veranda and incredibly beautiful views.
The modern, elegant interior with design highlights by Cassina or the American interior designer Warren Platner creates a relaxed, feel-good ambience. There is also a new gym in the same building, with 100 m2 of space for personal training and yoga.
The Castell Bar in the former chapel is cool and stylish, serving gin and tonic with rosemary and lavender. Brand new and a must for gourmets is the "Sa Clastra" restaurant, which opened in May. In the romantic courtyard, young chef Jordi Cantó serves innovative creations under the stars - his lamb ensaimada is sensational! The enchanting terrace of the Olivera Restaurant is the culinary focal point at any time of day. This is the place to meet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, well looked after and pampered by the charming service. Be sure to try the lemon tart - heavenly! There are said to be guests who come just for it.
