Hideaway with country romance
During the hotel tour through the clean and flower-decorated "village" with its typical local buildings and splashing fountain, reference is made to the "tranquility philosophy", which quickly ends at the relatively small pool with children's splashing around. The pool bar is no longer staffed from 7 p.m., although this is when the "sundowner" would be desirable. Minimalist interiors are the order of the day throughout the hotel, although the question sometimes arises as to whether the ambience and furnishings are still on a 5* level due to all the purism: The country house furniture in our deluxe suite looks used and the vintage wardrobe squeaks - but the large terrace with a view as far as the sea makes up for this. We would love to relax here with an espresso, but the capsules for the machine are missing. When asked, we were told that we would have to pay extra for them. This seems rather unusual in a luxury hotel - and also not very service-oriented.
However, when you taste the Mediterranean cuisine in the evening, you are somewhat reconciled and enjoy the romantic atmosphere in the illuminated inner courtyard, which is also perfect for concerts and events, as you really don't disturb anyone outside. If you fancy a spa treatment, you'll have to be patient. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the number of staff has been reduced, meaning that only a few treatments can be booked and the spa is often closed. However, the indoor pool, whirlpool and hammam are excluded. The hotel's own beach is five kilometers away and costs 15 euros a day.
