Anantara Quy Nhon Villas
Lots of privacy on a dream beach
luxury ambience.
A decapitated coconut stands in the room as a welcome gift, the bamboo drinking straw. "We try to do without plastic," says GM Eric Billgren later. Water, for example, is offered in glass bottles, cosmetics in stylish ceramic dispensers. I like the bathroom with its free-standing bath, two washbasins and oversized shower. The wall facing the garden is fully glazed, so you also have a sea view from here. As the name suggests, this also applies to the Ocean View Villas on the hillside.
The beautiful spa is hidden in a jungle-like grove. It's made entirely of wood, so I can look out into the distance from the upper treatment rooms past palm crowns - when I'm not looking through the breathing hole in the mattress during a relaxing signature experience. I prefer to sit outside for dinner. Fortunately, it cools down slightly in the evening. Local guests prefer to spend the evening in the air-conditioned restaurant.
"East meets West" is the promise of the cuisine, with a stronger emphasis on Vietnamese influences on request. Fish and seafood come directly from the trusted cutter, Wagyu and Angus from Australia. When the restaurant manager rolls a small trolley to the table, I am stunned. It contains a dozen coarse salts flavored with various spices and garden herbs.
