Zermatt
Zermatt lies at the end of the 30 km long Nikolai Valley, at the foot of the Matterhorn. Almost a third of all the 4000-metre peaks in the Alps are grouped around this village. It is not only home to the highest ski area in the Alps, but also one of the best developed (Matterhorn Ski Paradise 360 km of pistes). There are also world-renowned hotels and restaurants as well as plenty of après-ski activities, for example in the "Hennu Stall" (phone: +41 27 9663510). Zermatt - a piece of Switzerland as it should be: high alpine, pristine, inviting.
