Washington State

Holidays in Washington - "Evergreen State"
The state of Washington is located on the north-west coast of the United States and was named after the first US President George Washington and is often distinguished from Washington D.C. by the name "Washington State". Washington owes its nickname "Evergreen State" to the large number of conifers. The state is dominated by high mountain ranges and offers hiking enthusiasts in particular the perfect vacation and nature paradise alongside the beautiful nature parks.

Attractions Seattle - Long live health
Despite all its urbanity, Seattle has remained a somewhat leisurely place; the Starbucks coffee house culture with its cozy armchairs did not originate here by chance. At the same time, the city also has a good reputation for cyclists, walkers and the health-conscious. Seattle's recreational value is second to none: The sheltered Elliott Bay and Lake Washington to the east offer countless sporting opportunities, with water sports such as sailing, canoeing and kayaking being particularly popular.

Washington State attractions - bridges and museums
The Tacoma Narrows Bridge is one of the absolute highlights of Washington State. The suspension bridge stretches across the
river of the same name and was first opened in 1940
first opened in 1940. After a collapse, the bridge was rebuilt and reopened in 1950 and has remained standing ever since. The Experience Music Project, a museum dedicated to modern music, is particularly worth seeing and recommending. But it is not only the works of art that are worth a visit, but also the building itself. Due to its whimsical shape, the building is also known as the melted guitar and the blob. At the Burge Museum of Natural History and Culture in Seattle, you can marvel at a large collection of Native American art.

Shopping Seattle - The perfect shopping destination
Seattle is the perfect place to spend excellent shopping days in the city. The best shopping opportunities are downtown, in Fremont, the International District, Pike Place or the University District. Downtown Seattle is a square of several blocks with big brand names like Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom and Gap. Downtown is also the location of Westlake Center Plaza and Pacific Place, both of which are large malls with a variety of stores and restaurants. Pioneer Square is not only the site of the original Starbucks, it also offers some of the best shopping in Seattle. The International District, just south of Pioneer Square, has eight blocks of world-class shopping with goods from all over Asia. Seattle's Pike Place Market is famous for its waterfront shopping area, as well as local produce, fresh fish and an abundance of incredible restaurants.
