Tennessee is located in the east of the USA and is surrounded by the states of Georgia to the south, North Carolina to the east, Kentucky to the north and Arkansas to the west. The Great Smokey Mountains stretch to the east, while the Appalachian Plateau is located inland. Two well-known rivers, the Tennessee River and the Mississippi, also run through the state. Mountains, forests and lakes provide excellent conditions for many outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing and camping.

The Midtown market offers souvenirs such as barbecue spices, Memphis cookbooks and arts and crafts from the mountains. Many stores in Memphis are closed on Sundays.
