Palm Springs is located in the south of the sunny state of California, with 350 days of sunshine a year and just under 46,000 inhabitants. Once known as a recreational retreat for Hollywood stars such as Frank Sinatra, the city in the middle of the desert is still a popular winter residence thanks to its mild climate. But the city also has a lot to offer architecturally and proves that it is not just the mansions of Elvis Presley and his ilk that are worth seeing. Mid-century modern architecture is the style of many of the buildings.
Breathtaking natural wonders can be found in the Indian Canyons: gorges, deep green palm groves, colorful flowers and the chirping of a wide variety of bird species delight visitors to the area. Golfers are no less delighted, with countless golf courses lining the desert city.
