Holidays in Myanmar - Travel to another time
Myanmar's long inaccessibility has left the country relatively untouched by the outside world - beautiful landscapes, colorful cultures and strong beliefs will win over any visitor. Although Myanmar, also known as Burma, is a beautiful country, it's the hospitality and joy that keeps travelers coming back.

Burma food - rice in abundance
As Myanmar (Burma) has diverse geographical features, the country benefits from favorable seasonal conditions and is naturally endowed with fertile soil and water resources. Therefore, Burma offers a rich variety of delicious food all year round. The locals of Myanmar prefer rice as their staple food and it comprises about 75% of their diet. Rice is cooked and served with meat or fish, soup, salad or vegetables of all kinds.

Although dishes are prepared in a variety of ways, the most common method is to cook meat and fish in oil, season with onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, chili and other spices and simmer until all the water has evaporated. The most popular spice in Burma is a type of condiment made from preserved fish or shrimp seasoned with chili powder. Most traditional snacks, which are very varied and flavorful, are usually made with rice or sticky rice.

Travel to Myanmar - A country rich in culture
Burma has many names, but whether the country is called Myanmar, Burma or Burma, its Asian friendliness makes it a special destination. Myanmar has been under kleptocratic military rule since 1962. The country was officially renamed by the military from Burma or Burma to Union Myanmar (Pyidaungsu Thamada Myanmar Naing-Ngan-Daw)
Myanmar consists of many different peoples and nationalities and is therefore considered a multi-ethnic state. The country has a population of around 54 million, spread across 135 different ethnic groups. The largest group is the Burmese (Bamar), who make up 70% of the population.

Burma trip - The somewhat different shopping experience
Every few meters there is a Myanmar store around the markets and streets. There is a small Myanmar shopping mall in the center of Yangon.

You can buy many things, such as regional unique items, which are often beautiful handicrafts from Myanmar, but also everyday items, which mostly come from China and are industrially produced. Cosmetics also mostly come from China and Thailand. Inside Bogyoke Market, there is a gold store every few meters along the central lane alongside the jade stores, souvenir stores, fabric and textile stores, antique stores and dozens of jewelry stores. Probably the best bookstore in Myanmar is at the YMCA building, where they also have children's books and English language books.
