Food in Buenos Aires - quantity and quality
The restaurants in Buenos Aires are famous for the quantity and quality of their meats. But visitors can choose from a wide variety of regional dishes and foods that have been heavily influenced by immigrants from all over Europe and Asia.
Buenos Aires has Italian, Spanish, Japanese, French, Nordic, Mexican-Chinese, Arabic, Turkish and Armenian restaurants and palates. There are also a number of restaurants that serve vegetarian and macrobiotic delicacies. The choice of restaurants caters for both discerning tastes and fast food lovers - so there is something for every taste and budget.

The most popular meal is "el Asado" or "parrillada", a mixed grill platter with steak and other meats. A traditional parrillada includes meat, sausage, chinchulines (small intestine), riñones (kidneys) and black pudding. It is cooked over charcoal or a wood fire and served with chimichurri, a delicious marinade and often with various salads and/or roast potatoes.
