Tahiti
Tahiti, the island in the South Pacific, is the most touristically developed island in French Polynesia next to Bora Bora. Tahiti consists of two mighty volcanic massifs, reminiscent of emerald green comets in the middle of the turquoise sea. The warm waters of the South Seas are one of Tahiti's outstanding advantages. The marine fauna is particularly diverse and invites you to exciting diving adventures: Underwater excursions with sharks or schools of barracuda are not uncommon. On land, you are surrounded by lush nature and intense, exotic scents at every turn. A popular souvenir are the black Tahitian pearls, which have become a symbol of elegance and beauty all over the world.

Tahitian food - an unbeatable mix
Tahitian cuisine is an unbeatable blend of Polynesian, Southeast Asian and French cuisine. The main ingredients are seafood and tropical fish such as parrotfish, ahi or mahi-mahi, and pork and poultry are also frequently served. Typical Tahitian vegetables include yam (ufi), sweet potato (umara, uma'a), tuber root (taro and tarua), "Tahitian spinach" (fafa), bananas and the fruit of the bread tree (uru). Tahitian cuisine also includes vanilla beans, coconut milk and pumpkins.
Tahiti Beach - The snorkeling paradise
Tahiti's natural fine beaches are made of black sand, basalt. They are mainly located on the west coast. The white beaches in front of the hotels, familiar from vacation photos, are mostly man-made, but no less beautiful for that.
Visitors to Tahiti will find a sea of plants and flowers - wonderfully fragrant jasmine, hibiscus, vanilla and lush guava bushes dominate the picture - interspersed with tropical mountain forest and all kinds of ferns.
The impressive world of Tahiti can also be experienced underwater - when diving or snorkeling: coral fish in numerous shapes and colors can be observed alongside a variety of other marine animals. In the months from August to November, whales can also be spotted off Tahiti's coast.
Tahiti sights - let yourself drift
If you are planning a trip to Tahiti, you should definitely not miss out on the island's most beautiful sights. Be sure to visit the incredibly beautiful Fa'arumai waterfall. The waterfall is surrounded by a wonderful variety of tropical plants. From there you can marvel at two more beautiful waterfalls on foot. A visit to the Papeari Botanical Gardens on Tahiti reveals an incredible abundance of tropical flowers, old trees and rare plants.
Near the village of Punaauia is the Musée de Tahiti et des Iles. Here you will get a great overview of the geology of the island, find an exhibition of historic monumental stone statues and many objects of Tahitian craftsmanship. You can also discover the island's scenic diversity and charm on beautiful tours along the coasts and into the interior of the island.
