Qatar

The emirate of Qatar is small and manageable, but full of surprises from the Arabian Nights: Impressive architecture, luxurious shopping centers and hotels. In the south of the kingdom there are endless desert landscapes, in the north secluded sandy beaches. Worth a visit
the capital Doha alone. With its skyscraper skyline, Doha looks like the world capital in a science fiction film.
in a science fiction movie. Downtown is home to the Museum of Islamic Art, which
claims to present the most important collection of Islamic art in the world. The
nested building itself, the Corniche, with its four exhibition levels and free-floating staircases, is a work of art in itself. Not far from here, people haggle over jewelry, spices and horses at the traditional Arab market Souq Waqif. The roots of the souk are said to go back 200 years. Similar to Dubai, Qatar has also had an artificial
island. It is called "The Pearl". However, the constant noise of construction sites in the city reveals that this was just the beginning and that much more will be built here in the coming years.

The Emirate of Qatar is located on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula on the Persian Gulf and is ruled as an absolute monarchy. The state religion is Islam and Sharia law is the main source of legislation. Qatar borders Saudi Arabia to the south and the Kingdom of Bahrain lies off the coast to the northwest. The country stretches around 180 km from south to north and 80 km from west to east. The national territory also includes a number of islands in the Persian Gulf.

With a low annual rainfall of less than 100 mm, Qatar is one of the driest landscapes in the world. Due to its proximity to the Persian Gulf, the climate is humid, subtropical and hot all year round. The humidity is 85%. In summer, temperatures of 45 °C are not uncommon, while in winter they drop to an average of 17 °C. However, in recent winters in particular, temperatures below 10 °C have been more common. The dry, dusty north-westerly wind Shamal blows frequently.

Sport plays a major role in Qatar's social life. Soccer, cycling, table tennis and other ball sports take place regularly in the emirate on the Arabian Peninsula. The great popularity of various sports is evidenced by the holding of world championships, Asian Games and the construction of sports halls and stadiums.

Although the people of Qatar are strictly religious, hospitality is a top priority. It is therefore not surprising that more and more luxury hotels are springing up on the peninsula in the Persian Gulf.
