Kitzbühel
The Ritz of the Alps
The opportunity to ski 200 days a year and, above all, the world-famous "Streif" make the area one of the most attractive of its kind for all winter sports enthusiasts. When spring arrives in the valley, you can enjoy the fantastic pistes in glorious sunshine in Kitzbühel, especially from March to May. Sun skiing is a pleasure for all those who like to welcome spring in the mountains.
Sun skiing and golf can be perfectly combined. With the Ski & Golf day ticket, you can enjoy the wonderful pistes and one of the sixty sun terraces as well as putting, driving or chipping in one day. No fewer than four courses - GC Schwarzsee, GC Eichenheim, GLC Rasmushof and GC Kitzbühel - are located right next to the village, with around 30 more within a radius of just 100 km. What unites them all is the view of the beautiful mountain panorama. Whether beginner or master player, there are attractive offers for every golfer. One highlight is the annual Kitzbühel Golf Festival, which is taking place for the 17th time this year. From June 23 to 30, 2019, everything in Kitzbühel revolves around golf and enjoyment. Every evening, a different award-winning chef will spoil guests, while the best winegrowers will provide the perfect wine accompaniment.
From down-to-earth traditional cuisine to contemporary haute cuisine - indulgence always plays a role in Kitzbühel.
The numerous restaurants, pubs and alpine huts ensure this. The gastronomy in Kitzbühel, Jochberg and Aurach can boast a total of 17 Gault Millau toques - unique for a region with just 12,000 inhabitants! No less extraordinary: the shopping offer with long-established traditional costume and sports fashion stores, fine boutiques and flagship stores of international luxury labels.
Nestled between the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Hahnenkamm, Kitzbühel offers almost unlimited possibilities in winter. Skiing history has been written here since 1892! This makes the Gamsstadt a co-founder of modern winter sports. Today, 230 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes and 57 state-of-the-art lifts guarantee skiing fun for young and old at all levels. One of the most challenging runs is the legendary Streif with demanding sections such as the "Mausefalle", "Steilhang" and "Hausbergkante", which can also be skied around in a relaxed manner on the "Familienstreif". Until Kitzbühel is back on the slopes, however, there is another eventful spring, a fantastic summer and a golden autumn on the agenda - because as already mentioned, the town with the illustrious name stands for an alpine lifestyle and plenty of variety 365 days a year.

Highlights
Almrauschfest with Rosi
Rosi Schipflinger, singer, landlady and owner of the Sonnbergstub'n, is a Kitzbühel institution. Not just because she is pretty and can sing well, but because she has made her "Hüttn" the most visited location in the Gamsstadt. Since then, blue bloods like Albert von Monaco have made a pilgrimage there, as have Becker, Lauda & Co. An annual "must" in the scene is the "Almrauschfest" in August. The who's who come together in traditional costume to enjoy traditional Tyrolean delicacies and champagne until they drop. The atmosphere in the rustic parlors is undoubtedly fun and relaxed, as everyone knows each other and enjoys the fashion show, Rosi's musical performances and then soul music and disco until the early hours.
