Carinthia Tourism

A vacation in Carinthia is definitely worthwhile - here are a few tips on what not to miss.

Whether beginner, returner or expert, everyone gets their money's worth in Carinthia. Variety is guaranteed by the 24 ski areas, each with its own character, in the midst of high alpine three-thousand-meter peaks as well as on the gentle peaks of the Nockberge mountains. What they all have in common is guaranteed snow on the slopes and the southern sun.

The Carinthian ski schools
A good reason to come to Carinthia in winter: The 33 Carinthian ski schools. Experienced ski instructors with top training and the friendly Carinthian mentality teach beginners their first turns in the snow as well as advanced skiers how to refine their technique.

Ice skating on frozen lakes
In winter, some of Carinthia's lakes become mirror-smooth open-air skating rinks, perfect for ice skaters, field hockey players and ice skaters. Lake Weissensee is the largest frozen natural ice surface in Europe.

Thermal baths, bathhouses, saunas & co
Winter wellness in Carinthia has many facets. Whether by the lake, such as in the Carinthian bathhouse on Lake Millstätter See and in the wellness hotels by the lakes, or in the two adventure spas right by the slopes in Bad Kleinkirchheim and the Kärnten Therme in Villach.

The Winter Kärnten Card
Whether you want to explore the snow-covered mountains or simply enjoy relaxing hours on a snowshoe hike in Carinthia's wonderful nature, the Kärnten Card is the ideal companion. Imposing views from the Pyramidenkogel, the cultural offerings of Carinthia's museums, numerous mountain railroads and much more round off the winter offer. The Winter Kärnten Card is available from 29 euros.
