Egypt

Egypt's cultural treasures are always worth a trip and the attraction of the seaside resorts on the Red Sea is unbroken.

Egypt as a travel destination stands for exciting historical sightseeing hotspots, inspiring cultural offerings and exciting sporting opportunities. So what would a perfect day in this country look like? Experience the sunrise early in the morning on board a diving boat, then marvel at the incomparable variety of colors of some of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world, dine on freshly caught fish and seafood right by the sea at lunchtime, play a round of golf or kite in the afternoon and enjoy the tropical night with a cool drink by the pool in the evening. Numerous hotel resorts on the Egyptian Red Sea coast offer an impressive backdrop for this dream day.

While reliable sunshine throughout the year makes the seaside resorts as attractive as ever, Cairo boasts the construction of Sphinx International Airport and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in Giza. The Colossus of King Ramses II arrived safely at its permanent exhibition site in the atrium at the beginning of January 2018, making it the first artifact in the museum, which will open in 2020. The Grand Egyptian Museum, located two kilometers from the pyramids of Giza, will house around 100,000 artefacts, starting with Egypt's prehistory through to the early Roman period. In addition to restaurants, cafeterias, stores, a cinema and a conference center, the GEM will also offer space for theater performances, concerts, conferences and business meetings. In general, cultural events - such as
a new version of the opera "Aida" with a light and sound show at the pyramids -, a wider range of Nile cruises and improved opportunities for international congresses are bringing more and more guests to the land on the Nile, where they can spend their perfect day.

The country's tropical coasts are characterized by a special combination of turquoise blue water, palm trees and lagoons, desert and rugged mountain ranges inland as well as a relaxed way of life. All of Egypt's regions score with their own charm and specific local products - but what sets Egypt apart overall is its special hospitality. Hurghada and Marsa Alam on the Egyptian mainland and Sharm El Sheikh on the southern tip of the Sinai are traditionally popular bathing and water sports destinations on the Red Sea. Sharm El Sheikh is particularly well known for its markets, nightclubs and golf clubs. Recently, however, its popularity has also grown among active sports enthusiasts and as a luxury travel destination.
