Alexandria
Named after its founder Alexander the Great, Alexandria is still a great vacation destination today. This is partly due to the numerous monuments from the Greco-Roman era, which bring history to life. On the other hand, it is also due to the fabulous fine sandy beaches, which are perfect for surfing, diving or relaxed swimming. Thanks to the mild Mediterranean climate, the weather here is very pleasant even in midsummer. So it's no wonder that the wealthy class from Cairo likes to spend the summer here. And probably indulge themselves in the many excellent fish restaurants.
