Flight Connections: New Destinations and a renovated Airport
Condor, JetBlue & Co. Expand Reach to Top Caribbean Destinations
While Condor’s connections to the Caribbean remain solid, there is always room for improvement! Currently, Condor serves Dominican hot spots Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata as well as Cancún, Mexico, and central hub Miami throughout the year. From early November into the spring, the airline flies to Montego Bay as well as Bridgetown, Barbados; St. John’s, Antigua; and Tobago.
In addition, Condor and the American airline Jetblue announced an expansion of their partnership in late August 2025. Members of Jetblue’s loyalty program Trueblue can now collect points on flights with Condor. Jetblue offers customers from the D/A/CH region access to various destinations in the Caribbean: Dominican Republic (Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, Santo Domingo), Jamaica (Montego Bay, Kingston), Puerto Rico (San Juan, Aguadilla, Ponce), Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cancún, Cayman Islands, Curaçao, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad, Turks & Caicos, and U.S. Virgin Islands.
Travelers from the D/A/CH region may also choose to connect to the Caribbean with KLM (to Aruba, Bermuda, Bonaire, Curacao, Grand Cayman Island, Havana, Kingston, and Montego Bay); with Air France (Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Martin); with British Airways (Antigua, Barbados, Cancún, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, St. Lucia); and with Virgin Atlantic (Antigua, Barbados, Cancún, Jamaica, Grenada, St. Vincent).
In airport news, St. Maarten celebrated the reopening of Princess Juliana Airport (SMX). Hit hard by Hurricane Irma in 2017, the airport suffered a ripped off roof, flooded interior and huge equipment destruction. In fall 2024, the complete overhaul was completed. Serving 1.5 to 2 million passengers a year, the airport now features much-improved check-in and departure areas with hybrid bag drop kiosks and Automatic Border Control Gates with biometry-enhanced attributes.
