Boutique & Gourmet Hotel Orso Grigio
What does it mean to have strong roots? Does it mean preserving the old? Or rather, to rethink the old? At Orso Grigio, tradition has always been rethought and lived.
Old and new hand in hand
In the center of San Candido in the Dolomites, the small, fine 4-star hotel has hospitality in its blood. Over half a millennium ago, traders and pilgrims stayed at the Gasthof zum Bären, the oldest accommodation in the village. Today, Franz Ladinser and his daughter Verena are the ninth and tenth generation to run the hotel. They have carefully preserved the traces of history and brought them to life in a modern way.
The late Gothic reception hall bears witness to the past, while the 28 rooms combine historical flair and modern linearity, from Biedermeier to country house style to new design. High above the rooftops, the roof terrace with sauna is a source of regeneration. Dinner is an evening experience. With a different theme every day, the menu offers a variety of dishes made from seasonal and regional products. The matching wine makes the evening a culinary experience.
